Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) is the oldest engineering institution in Lucknow. Established by the Government of Uttar Pradesh in 1984, the institute is affiliated with Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University. IET focuses on producing quality engineers and technocrats who contribute to the nation's growth and technological advancement.
Established in November 1984 as the 'Faculty of Engineering and Technology' of the University of Lucknow, IET was inaugurated with the objective of producing quality engineers in every discipline. The institute was set up by the Government of Uttar Pradesh as a society- governed institution and is now an autonomous constituent institute of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow. The campus, spread over 100 acres, was developed by Uttar Pradesh Rajkiya Nirman Nigam Ltd on land provided by the state government.
The institute started with around 200 students and now has over 1,500 students. IET Lucknow is recognised by AICTE and accredited by NBA. The institute offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes across engineering, management, and computer applications.
