National Post Graduate College (NPGC) is the autonomous college of the University of Lucknow. Established in 1974 by Late Shri Chandra Bhanu Gupta, the college is an institution of higher education in the heart of Lucknow. Established in 1974 by Late Shri Chandra Bhanu Gupta, a social worker and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, National Post Graduate College (NPGC) is located at 2-Rana Pratap Marg, near the banks of the Gomti River in the heart of Lucknow. The college runs under the auspices of the Motilal Memorial Society and is the autonomous college of the University of Lucknow. NPGC is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) as a "College with Potential for Excellence" and holds an 'A' grade from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
The objective of establishing the college was to impart formal education and to make students better citizens by inculcating virtues of self-discipline, self-confidence, social service, and humility.
