About Bharathidasan University

Bharathidasan University was established in February 1982 under the Bharathidasan University Act, 1981. It is located in the historic city of Tiruchirappalli, on a vast campus at Palkalaiperur, spread over 600 acres. The university is named after the celebrated Tamil poet and social reformer Bharathidasan, whose humanistic ideals and revolutionary thoughts continue to shape the institution's vision.
