Mother Teresa Women's University was established in 1984 under the Tamil Nadu Act 15. Located at Kodaikanal, the "Princess of Hill Stations", it is the only women's university administered by the Government of Tamil Nadu. The university bears the name of the global humanitarian and Nobel Laureate, Mother Teresa, whose spirit of service and compassion continues to guide its mission.
The university offers a diverse range of undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and doctoral programmes through its 25 departments and 11 affiliated colleges.
