About Mother Teresa Women's University

Mother Teresa Women's University was established in 1984 under the Tamil Nadu Act 15. Located at Kodaikanal, the "Princess of Hill Stations", it is the only women's university administered by the Government of Tamil Nadu. The university bears the name of the global humanitarian and Nobel Laureate, Mother Teresa, whose spirit of service and compassion continues to guide its mission.

The university offers a diverse range of undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and doctoral programmes through its 25 departments and 11 affiliated colleges. Its curriculum is enriched with Outcome-Based Education, Employability Skills, and cutting-edge research facilities. The university is accredited by NAAC with an "A" grade, reflecting its commitment to academic quality and institutional excellence.

Mother Teresa Women's University operates through its main campus in Kodaikanal and three Research and Extension Centres located in Madurai, Chennai, and Coimbatore. The university facilitates placements through more than 70 placement drives and has signed over 50 MoUs for academic collaborations with national and international institutions and industries . It is also proud to have 15 patents to its credit. The Entrepreneurship Training Centre at Pallapatti, Dindigul, enables rural women and the destitute to become employers rather than employees.
