About Tamil Nadu National Law University

Tamil Nadu National Law University (TNNLU) was established under the Tamil Nadu National Law University Act, 2012. It is located in Tiruchirappalli, a historic city in the heart of Tamil Nadu. The university was established with a vision to create a centre of excellence in legal education, research, and training, modelled on the other National Law Universities in India.

TNNLU offers a comprehensive range of legal programmes including the flagship five-year integrated B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) and B.Com., LL.B. (Hons.) programmes. At the postgraduate level, it offers LL.M. with specialisations in Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, Corporate Law, and Intellectual Property Law. The university also offers doctoral programmes (Ph.D.) in law and is recognised for its rigorous academic curriculum, moot court culture, and legal research.
